History of
About
Afterburners.
Afterburners Toastmasters was founded in 1982. Club #6191,
originally got it's name "Afterburners" because it was
a company club belonging to General Dynamics Inc (GD) which is
now Lockheed-Martin a jet fighter and aircraft manufacturer. The
club became a community club in 1993 when GD moved one of it's
divisions outside it primary plant. It is an exhuberant club with
a very solid core member support base. Known to be a tad crazy
and lots of fun. Afterburners take Toastmastering seriously but
don't take themselves too seriously.
